You’ve heard of the #IceBucketChallenge, but have you heard of the #GoldenMileChallenge? This challenge turns a simple mile (on average, you already walk over a mile a day!) into so much more. Walk (or run) a mile, make a $1 donation for each minute walked and then challenge your friends to do the same. Taking the challenge means you’ll accomplish a few things. You’ll be improving your own health (good on you!) and supporting The Tanner Seebaum Foundation which strives to fund medical research for pediatric brain tumors. In addition, you’ll be paying tribute and giving moral support to the people who fight it every single day. One of them is Tanner Seebaum, who unfortunately lost this battle July 12, 2013. His courageous example is what makes this mile so meaningful.
It’s simple, takes no more than 15 minutes from your day, supports pediatric brain tumor research and pays tribute to Tanner Seebaum.
Step up and take the #GoldenMileChallenge today!

Last year, FrontStream (FirstGiving) helped promote Tanner (DJ Seebaum) during the last months of his life. We promoted him during his session on Beatport and pushed his fundraising page via social media. We’ve continued to work with the foundation, even after the early passing of this incredible, creative spirit left us too soon. We’re proud to do so.
About Tanner Seebaum
Tanner Seebaum was an inspirational, courageous and creative young man who battled cancer most of his life. First diagnosed at less than two years old with an Ependymoma, Tanner had a total of three of these terrible cancer tumors before he was eight. After numerous surgeries and countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation for his tumors, Tanner had eight years in remission. Then, in May 2012, Tanner was afflicted with a new recurrence on his brain stem; an aggressive, inoperable and incurable tumor. Doctors estimated that he had less than four months to live. On July 12, 2013, Tanner passed away.
About The Tanner Seebaum Foundation
The Tanner Seebaum Foundation was founded by Matt and Stephanie Seebaum, Tanner’s parents, Ellie, Tanner’s sister, and a small group of dedicated friends and family members in order to do something more for children who are tragically faced with the diagnosis of a brain tumor. The foundation strives to fund medical research that will lead to a cure for this terrible disease. While there are many different types of brain tumors and cancers, it is important that promising research continues in all areas. This foundation places special emphasis on treating Ependymoma and Glial tumors of the brain and spine. For more information on The Tanner Seebaum Foundation, visit www.tannersfoundation.org.
